The driving examination comprises a theory and driving test. Some categories also include a handling test, which may be included in the driving test or taken separately.
Conditions for taking a driving examination
You fulfil the age requirement
You have a valid driving licence permit
You are not banned from driving
You have completed the driving instruction corresponding to the examination category.
Booking time for the driving examination
The theory, handling and driving tests of the driving examination are taken at an office of Traficom's service provider Ajovarma.
Complaining about a rejected theory or driving test
You may seek a revised decision from the Finnish Transport and Communications Agency to a decision made by the examiner. The processing of a claim for a revised decision is chargeable (EUR 50) and enforceable without a separate decision under the Act on Criteria for Charges Payable to the State The instructions on filing a claim for a revised decision are attached to the feedback sent to the customer by e-mail.
