An international driving licence provides the same information as a Finnish driving licence. It is used together with a national driving licence. On its own, an international driving licence does not entitle the person to drive a motor vehicle.
In EU and EEA countries, you can drive when carrying only your Finnish driving licence. In addition, in other Nordic countries you can drive when carrying only a temporary Finnish driving licence.

Applications for international driving licences can be made at the office of the Automobile and Touring Club of Finland or at any of its service points located around Finland. Applications may also be sent by post to the Automobile and Touring Club of Finland.
